Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of two persons including underwold figure 'Anamalu Ranga' and another individual in Madampitiya yesterday (Aug 15).
The arrests had been carried out in Mattakuliya upon information received by officers attached to the Organised Crimes Preventive Division of the Special Task Force.
STF officers had recovered a blunt weapon, two swords of different sizes, a motorbicycle, and a mobile phone from the possession of the suspects at the time of the arrest.
The suspects have been handed over to the Mattakuliya police for further investigations.
Yesterday, two persons identified as Sampath Niroshan alias 'Anamalu Ranga' and Mohamed Imran had died after being stabbed in the vicinity of the Madampitiya cemetry.
