Former UNP General Secretary and Parliamentarian Tissa Attanayake who was arrested this morning has been remanded till February 11 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court. Attanayake was arrested on the grounds that the former UNP General Secretary presented a false document to the media claiming it was a ‘secret agreement’ between President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Police media spokesman ASP Ajith Rohana said speaking at a news briefing today. Further Police Media Spokesman said, the signatures of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had been forged and that the arrest had been made by the Criminal investigations Department (CID) upon initial inquiries conducted into the matter.
