The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) would vote against the budget if its demands are not met, TNA parliamentarian Mavai Senathirajah said.
He made these remarks during the debate on the second reading of the budget in Parliament yesterday.
Meanwhile, United People's Freedom Alliance parliamentarian Shantha Bandara speaking during the debate had called on the government to reduce the taxes imposed on motor vehicles and three-wheelers.
The parliamentarian cautioned that the three-wheeler industry would be badly affected if the government fails to do so.
