A travel ban has been imposed on Parliamentarian Mahindananda Aluthgamage and former Sathosa Chairman Nalin Fernando over a fraud case.
The order was issued when the case was taken up before the Second Special High Court today (Oct 4).
The case will be taken up for further hearing on December 16, before a judge bench comprising Justices R. Gunasinghe, Amal Ranaraja, and Shashi Mahendran.
Mr. Aluthgamage and former Sathosa Chairman Nalin Fernando have been accused of causing losses worth more than Rs 40 million during the presidential election in 2015.
According to the Bribery Commission, the fraud was committed while purchasing 14,000 carrom boards and 11,000 checkerboards during Aluthgamage's tenure as Sports Minister.
