Two Agrarian Development Officers have been arrested for soliciting a bribe of Rs 10,000, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) said.
According to CIABOC, the officers had solicited the bribe at the Agrarian Development Office in Ulpathgama to extend the duration of a gem mining permit.
The suspects have been identified as a research officer, and a production assistant.
