Two individuals were hospitalised following an accident involving a three wheeler and a jeep belonging to Minister Vajira Abeywardena this afternoon.
The victims including a female passenger and the driver of the three -wheeler are currently recieving treatment at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, Akmeemana Police said.
The accident had occured when both vehicles were travelling towards Yakkalamulla, along the Galle-Yakkalamulla main road.
According to the police, the jeep belonging to the minister had collided with the three wheeler while it was taking a turn into Ketandola from the Gonamulla junction.
Minister Abeywardena had intervened and the injured were rushed to the hospital.
The driver of the jeep has been arrested as well as the vehicle which was involved in the accident.
