Two injured after shop comes under attack in Jaffna
Two people were injured after a grocery shop came under attack at Arasady Junction in Jaffna last night. A mob of six persons are reported to have stormed the shop at around 7.00pm yesterday and attacked the victims with swords. A petrol bomb was also thrown into the shop.
The attackers, who had come on motorbikes, later fled the area.
The shop sustained severe damage in the incident and the injured victims were admitted to hospital.
It is reported that CCTV cameras had recorded the entire attack. Police are now using the footage in a bid to track down the culprits.
