Two persons died due to excessive heat while attending the May Day rally of the Joint Opposition at Galle Face Green, Colombo National hospital officials said.
They were among five persons who were admitted to the hospital after falling ill due to the heat.
One of them was a 80 year old person and the other a 62 year old person.
They were from Kandy and Nivithigala.
