The bodies of two police officers who were on duty at the Vavunathivu Road block were found at around 6 am today (Nov 30).
The victims have been identified as 35-year old Niroshan Indika, a resident of Galle and 28-year old Ganesh Dinesh, a resident of Kalmunai.
A special investigation is being carried out headed by the Batticaloa Superintendent of police. A magisterial inquest is expected to be carried out today by the Batticaloa Magistrate.
