Two suspects who had organised a party in Bentota last Sunday in which narcotics had been consumed have been remanded until November 19 on orders of the Balapitiya Magistrate's Court.
Police said that they were among a group of 22 individuals between the ages of 19 and 48 who had been arrested at the party with heroin, cannabis, and narcotic tablets.
The suspects are residents of Bentota, Kosgoda, Ahungalla, Beruwala, Hatton, and Dehiattakandiya.
One suspect who was nabbed with heroin has been sent for a three-month rehabilitation programme at the Rehabilitation Centre in Boossa.
Six individuals who were arrested with cannabis were fined by the court while13 individuals who were nabbed with narcotic pills have been granted bail. Further investigations are underway.
