The United National Party (UNP) will today (Sept 26) convene what is expected to be a crucial Working Committee meeting at its headuqarters in Sirikotha to decide on the party's presidential candidate.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 pm.
Meanwhile, the parliamentary group of the UNP will also meet its leader Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today.
So far, Mr. Wickremesinghe, UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa, and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya are among the probable presidential candidates.
