Update: First four hours of polls peaceful

The first four hours of the elections have gone off peacefully without any serious incidents, election monitors reported.

Executive Director of the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections, Keerthi Tennkoon said that no serious incidents have been reported until 11, 00 a,m., though a couple of persons have been arrested for violating election laws.

Director for the PAFFREL Rohana Hettiarachchi also confirmed that the elections have been free of violence in the first four hours.
