Weerawansa commences hunger strike in prison
Parliamentarian and Leader of the Jathika Nidahas Peramuna (JNP) Wimal Weerawansa has launched a hunger strike protesting against the rejection of his bail application.
The MP has been in remand custody since he was arrested on January 10 by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) for alleged misuse of Government vehicles.
