An inmate at the Welikada prison has committed suicide in the washroom of the prison complex today (Mar 19).
It is reported that the inmate, a 37-year old was serving a life imprisonment case.
The inmate who was serving his sentence in the 'L' ward of the prison had been transferred from the Dumbara Prison to the Welikada prison two months ago.
