Officers attached to the Polonnaruwa Wildlife Zone launched a work to rule campaign following an incident involving a group of unidentified men who assaulted officers attached to the Minneriya Wildlife Office, local media reported.
The strike was launched yesterday evening and will continue if police fail to arrest those responsible for the attack, by this evening.
Meanwhile, the Minneriya National park which was temporarily closed following the assault incident reopened this afternoon.
However, the park was reopened after considering the inconveniences faced by both local and foreign visitors.
