The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) recorded a statement from National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader and former Minister Wimal Weerawansa today over a complaint lodged by Kaduwela municipal council chairman, police said. Earlier Wimal Weerawansa's wife Shashi Weerawansa was arrested yesterday evening over the charges of obtaining a diplomatic passport submitting forged documents.
A short while later, the official car of the Commander of the Navy, bearing plate NAHA 5006, departed from Navy House, Longdon Place, Colombo 7.
