UPFA MP Wimal Weerawansa arrived at the Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) a short while ago, police said.
According to reports the MP was summoned to record a statement in connection with irregularities which occurred at the Ministry of Housing and Construction while he was serving as its Minister, an official said.
Meanwhile, Wimal Weerawansa’s brother Sarath Weerawansa has been further remanded until November 16 by the Fort Magistrate’s Court. Sarath Weerawansa was arrested on charges of misusing state-owned vehicles during the previous government.
