Employees of the Department of the National Zoological Gardens have commenced a one-day token strike citing issues over their benefits today (Sept 6).
Priyantha Wickramasinghe, Secretary of the Zoology Trade Unions Collective said that the authorities had not increased their benefits in line with their requests.
Accordingly, the unionist said that the strike is underway at the Dehiwala Zoological Gardens, Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, and the Ridiyagama Safari Park.
