Clear message to those provoking violence against Muslims

People of all walks of life, including ruling families, in the Gulfdemandexpulsion of Hindu extremiststo protest Indian government sponsored violence against Muslims in India.

This is also a clear message to racist politicians who unleash violence against Sri Lankan Muslims for political gains as it couldjeopardize the jobs of around a million Sri Lankan workers in the Gulf remitting annually around seven billion dollars.

SomeIndian workers in the Gulf, the authorities have found out, supportviolent RSSHindutvaideology back at home. Even some successful Indian businessmen in the Gulfmaintain close ties with RSS Hindutva forces and fundthem.

According to Indian weekly Muslim Mirror, “the RSS Hindus organisesecret militant camps in many Gulf countries in which they propagate anti-Islam and anti-Muslim ideas.Many of them also act as informants to India’s intelligence RAW.

Ever sincethe governmentorganized violence against New Delhi Muslims lastFebruary,media in the Gulf have been givingwide publicity to theseviolent incidents.

Vivid details of these attacks were shown in pictures and video clips. The turning point came when some Indian workers started circulating hate-filled messages in WhatsAppand other forums forcing people todemand that these Hindutva extremists should be kicked out.

For example Saudi scholar Sheikh Abidi Zahrani has said that militant Hindus spreading hatred and committing crimes against Muslims should be expelled from the Gulf.He urgedgovernments in the Middle East, especially the Gulf, to clamp down on anyone showing sympathy with extremist Hindu ideology.

One of the most high profile persons tweeting against Islamophobic attitude and comments of the government and its cheerleaders is Princess Hend Al Qassimi, a businesswoman who comes from the Sharjah ruling family.SheikhaHend Al Qassimiwarned: “Anyone openly racistin the UAE will be fined and expelled.

Responding promptly to theseGulf wide calls, police from all six GCC countries have made a joint appeal forinformationto arrest and expelRSS militants.

Meanwhile The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has calledfor urgent steps to stop the growing tide of Islamophobia in India and protect the rights of its persecuted Muslim minority.  Every year, more than $55 billion are transferred to India from Gulf countries and more than $120 billion annually from all Muslim countries. Indians (mostlyHindus) are treated well in these countries. In the Gulf countries alone more than eight million Indians work.
