Sprinter Kalinga Kumarage clocked 45.73seconds to win the gold medal in the Men's 400m at the 60th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championship (NISSAC) 2021 in Patiala, Punjab in India.
Kumarage had previously timed his best as 45.99seconds and at NISSAC 2021 he recorded his personal best timing of 45.73seconds, which is the fourth best timing for Sri Lanka in 400m.
National record holder Sugath Thilakaratne and former champions Prasanna Amarasekara and Rohan Pradeep Kumara are the three sprinters to clock better timings than Kumarage.
