Prof. Arjuna de Silva has been appointed chairman of a five-member Management Committee to carry out day-to-day affairs of Sri Lanka Cricket until its election of office bearers on May 20, 2021.
The others in the committee are Ashley de Silva (Secretary), Sujeewa Mudalige (Treasurer), Uchitha Wickremasinghe Attorney-at-Law and Amal Edirisooriya (Observer).
Their term begins on April 6.
Their appointment comes in the wake of the Attorney General’s (AG's) Department’s advice to placed Sri Lanka Cricket under a new management committee until its election of office bearers as the current committee’s term expired on February 20, 2021.
The minister has also extended the term of the current executive committee headed by Shammi Silva up until April 5 under the powers vested on him.
