The International Cricket Council announced the dates and venues for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. The tournament will be held in India and will commence from 5 October 2023 and will go on till 19 November 2023.
The matches will be played in 10 different venues for 46 days. 10 teams will be competing for the trophy. Already 8 teams have booked their slots for the Super League stage while the other two teams will be decided by the end of the qualifiers round which will conclude in Zimababwe on July 9.
The first match will kick off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmebadad with a repeat of the 2019 final as England will take on New Zealand.
There will be a total of 10 venues;Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata.
Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram in addition to Hyderabad will host the warm-up matches from 29 September to 3 October.
If Sri Lanka qualifies their fixtures will be:
7 Oct vs RSA at Delhi
12 Oct vs PAK at Hyderabad
17 Oct vs AUS at Lucknow
21 Oct vs Qualifier 1 at Lucknow
26 Oct vs ENG at Bangalore
30 Oct vs AFG at Pune
2 Nov vs IND at Bombay
6 Nov vs BAN at Delhi
9 Nov vs NZ at Bangalore.
