Former cricketer turned commentator Farveez Maharoof has resigned from the Cricket Consultative Committee appointed by the Minister of Sports due to his cricket commentary career.
Maharoof has sent his letter of resignation on June 30.
The committee headed by Sanath Jayasuriya is tasked with advising the Sports Minister on matters relating to Sri Lanka cricket.
The four member committee also included Charith Senanayake and Asantha de Mel.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
