Spinner Maheesh Theekshana will play Sri Lanka’s second World Cup group game against Pakistan after being declared fit. Theekshana missed the opening game as he was still under rehabilitation for a hamstring injury, he sustained during the Asia Cup last month. The match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad.
“We didn't want to take a risk with him in the first game and didn't want to go against the advice of the medicals so I'm sure he'll be available for this one,” said team’s Assistant Coach Naveed Nawaz said.
Sri Lanka suffered a heavy 102-run defeat in the opener against South Africa. They conceded 428 runs and were bowled out for 326 runs.
