Archery: SriLankan Airlines win TTSC title for 2nd year running

SriLankan Airlines (SriLankan) 'A' flew high to regain the Travel Trade Sports Club (TTSC) Archery Championships 2017 at its 3rd edition concluded at the Colombo Archery Centre, Longdon Place, Friday before last. 

The 2nd event in the TTSC Sports calendar had 28 teams competing, and was sponsored by Yenesha Travels (Pvt) Ltd., Seeduwa, for the 3rd successive year. 

In the preliminary round all 28 teams, each comprising of 3 Archers, shot 4 arrows each at 4 targets, for a maximum team score of 120 points. 

At the end of the Preliminary round, the 10 teams that came on top were: SriLankan 'A' (105 pts), Serendib Leisure Hotels 'A' (105 pts), Aitken Spence Travels (Aitken Spence) 'A' (103 pts), Emirates 'B' (89 pts), Serendib Leisure Hotels 'B' (78 pts), Aitken Spence 'C' (74 pts), Walkers Tours 'B' (73 pts) Green Holiday Centre (GHC) 'A' (72 pts), GHC 'B' (70 pts) and Aitken Spence Aviation 'A' (70 pts). 

The 5 top Archers were: Sashan Randeniya- Sri Lankan 'A' (39 pts), Malshan Dissanayake- Serendib Leisure Hotels (Serendib Leisure) 'A' (39 pts), Lalin Sumanasinghe- Aitken Spence 'A' (38 pts), Savinda de Silva- Emirates 'B' (35 pts) and Dineth Perera from Aitken Spence 'B' (34 pts). 

In the tiebreaker to select the Best Male Archer, Sashan Randeniya- SriLankan 'A' beat Malshan Dissanayake- Serendib Leisure 'A' (3 Arrows each).
 
The top 8 teams advanced to the Quarter-finals (QF) 
1st QF: SriLankan 'A' beat GHC 'A' 
2nd QF: Aitken Spence 'A' beat Aitken Spence 'C' 
3rd QF: Emirates 'B' beat Serendib Leisure 'B' 
4th QF: Serendib Leisure 'A' beat Walkers Tours 'B' 

Semi-finals (SF) 
1st SF: SriLankan 'A' beat Aitken Spence 'A' 
2nd SF: Serendib Leisure 'A' beat Emirates 'B' 

Play off for 3rd place: Aitken Spence 'A' ( Sameera Gunatillake, Lalin Sumanasinghe and Goshan Maduranga) beat Emirates 'B' 

Final: SriLankan 'A' (Senaka Randeniya, Sashan Randeniya and Rasika Seneviratne) beat Serendib Leisure 'A' (Malshan Dissanayake, Hussain Habeeb and Shanaka Perera). 

Best Female Archer: Natali Joseph- Aitken Spence Aviation 'A
