Sri Lankan athletes won four medals -- a Gold, two Silver and a Bronze -- at the ongoing 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2017 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The Gold medal was won by Gayanthika Abeyratne, who clocked 2 minutes, 5.12 seconds in the Women's 800m final while Indunil Herath and Amila Jayasiri claimed the two Silver medals.
Herath, competing in the Men's 800m final, timed 1 minute, 49.45 seconds to finish second and claim the Silver, while Jayasiri cleared 7.45metres in the Men's Long Jump to finish overall second.
Manjula Kumara won the Bronze medal in Men's High Jump with a leap of 2.21metre.
Sri Lanka is represented by 21 athletes in five different sports disciplines at the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2017 which is held in Ashgabat from September 15 to 24.
