Nilukar Karunaratne, the Sri Lanka shuttler in contention at the Rio Olympics 2016, suffered a 0-2 loss against World No.2 Badminton player, China's Long Chen in the Men's Singles first round match at Rio de Janeiro on Thursday (11).
Chen, the Bronze medalist at London Olympics 2012, recorded an easy win, less than over 30 minutes, 21-7 and 21-10 to warm up for his remainders of the Group 'P' matches at Rio Olympics.
Karunaratne's next game will be up against Guatemala's Kevin Cordon on Friday (12) and he is slotted to take on Adrian Dziolko of Poland in his final group game on Sunday (14).
