The Sri Lanka Basketball team for the upcoming South Asian Games (SAG) was announced after a series of trial games held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Complex.
With known players such as Roshan Fernando, Roshan Randima and Chamath Danawansa in the side, Sri Lanka is the ability to win a medal.
The trio was part of Sri Lanka Basketball team that took part in the previous SAG.
Sri Lanka’s best at SAG in basketball came in 1991 when they won the bronze medal.
Panduka Ranasinghe, the national coach stated that the team has built strategies and prepared well in advance to face any challenge.
The team was announced without an appointed captain.
