Royal College Colombo and Good Shepherd Convent Kotahena bagged the Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball championships respectively, at the All-Island Schools Games conducted by the Ministry of Sports at Jaffna's St. Patrick’s and Central College courts.
In the Boys’ final, Royal beat St. Joseph’s College Colombo 54-42, while in the Girls’ final, Good Shepherd beat Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya 45-42.
In the Boys’ semi-finals, Royal beat Royal Institute 51-43 and St. Joseph's beat Joseph Vaz Wennappuwa 44-31.
Royal Institute beat Joseph Vaz 64-36 for third place.
In the Girls’ semi-finals, Good Shepherd beat Lyceum International Wattala 59-36 and Holy Family beat Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda 58-22.
Lyceum Wattala beat Dharmasoka College 60-31 for third place.
Royal's Rukshan Atapattu and Good Shepherd's Nirma Sasanthi won the 'Best Player' awards in boy's and girls' categories respectively.
