St. Nicholas’ International School Negombo beat Hejaaz International College by 65-62, in a closely fought final, to emerge champions of the All-Island Schools Under-15 Division ‘C’ Basketball Tournament at Dharmapala Vidyalaya in Pannipitiya.
Enosh de Lambert of St. Nicholas’ was named Best Defensive Player while his teammate Naveen Solangearachchi was named the Most Valuable Player.
The team was coached by former Sri Lanka international Basil Fernando.
The winning St. Nicholas’ International School Under-15 basketball team was led by Naveen Solangearachchi.
Others in the team were Hervy Fernando, Enosh de Lambert, Kevin Stefan Vaz, Samod Fernando, Vishal Fernando, Chanusha Wijewardana, Anjalo Samarakoon, Ruchira Pradeep, Trevon Silvapulle, Sathiska Melron and Vishwa Kothalawala.
