International Cricket Council wrote to the Board of Control for Cricket in India president Jagmohan Dalmiya after BCCI’s secretary Anurag Thakur was pictured with an alleged bookie whose name features in the database of the Anti- Corruption and Security Unit of ICC, according to Indian media reports. In a letter addressed to BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya, ICC chief David Richardson wrote that Thakur was pictured with Karan Gilhotra. According to a CNN-IBN report, the letter marked to ICC chairman N Srinivasan, said, “During the 2014 edition of the IPL, unverified information was received by the ICC ACSU that Mr Gilhotra was seen trying to befriend players and support staff during the tournament and that there were rumours (again unverified) about his involvement in betting on cricket.” It was learnt that Ravi Savani, BCCI ACSU chief, had warned all the IPL franchisees to stay away from the Chandigarh-based businessman. Earlier on Sunday the reports emerged, alleging N Srinivasan of paying crores of Indian cricket board’s money to a London-based private agency to spy on the other BCCI members by tapping their phones and stalking e-mails.
