Selections for the newly introduced discipline, carrom, for the 42nd National Sports Festival will commence on August 21 at the YMCA in Kandy.
All players registered in the Matale, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts are eligible to participate in this event and those who wish to take part should apply directly from the Department of Sports - Central Province or through their respective District Sports Officers, by August 12.
The selections will be supervised by the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL) and it will be based on both Men’ and Women’s Single events only.
The event is organised by W. M. G. Hemantha, Director - Sports Central Province, in collaboration with the CFSL and the Department of Sports - Central Province.
The tournament will commence at 8 a.m. on 21st August and players are advised to turn up on time with their valid IDs, such as the NIC, Passport or the Postal ID Card.
