angala Kumara and Shashin Dilranga put on a valuable unbroken 45 runs stand for the seventh wicket to steer the high riding BRC to record a four wicket win over Navy SC in the final of the Emerging T20 cricket tournament played at P. Sara Stadium.
Navy SC taking first lease of the wicket saw openers Dhanushka Gurusinghe and Avishka Perera adding 27 runs before they lost four wickets and collapsed to a score of 62 for 5 before the tenth over.
They recovered through a stand of 22 runs for the sixth wicket between Amith Eranga and Buddika Hasaranga but their separation saw them losing wickets at regular intervals before being bowled for 137.
BRC in the their run chase too underwent the same fate as they began with a 25 runs opening wicket stand between Lisula Lakshan and Maduranga Zoysa and slid to 73 for 5 in the 11th over.
Nuwan Perera and Shashin Dilranga associated in a brief stand of 20 runs for the sixth wicket before Shashin and Mangala guided the side with unbroken stand of 45 runs for BRC to emerge champions.
Earlier in the semi-final encounters BRC defeated Moratuwa SC by four wickets while Navy SC got the better of Panadura SC by 57 runs.
