Cricket: Dinesh Chandimal appointed new skipper

Dinesh Chandimal has been named as the captain of the Sri Lanka cricket team after Angelo Mathews decided to step down from the captaincy following Sri Lanka's 2-3 defeat against Zimbabwe in the ODIs.

Chandimal was dropped from the Sri Lanka ODI squad of the concluded series but according to reliable sources Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) selectors have decided to appoint him in place of Mathews.
