Sri Lanka Test opener Kaushal Silva was discharged from Nawaloka Hospital in Colombo on Tuesday (26), where he was been treated for a head injury sustained during a cricket match played in Kandy.
According to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) medical experts have identified that Silva has suffered a mild concussion and has been totally cleared to resume training with the Sri Lanka cricket team.
However he will be rested for two more days according to SLC.
"Sri Lanka Cricket is happy to announce that batsman Kaushal Silva has been discharged from
hospital in Colombo having been issued a clean bill of health by medical experts," an official statement issued by SLC said.
"Specialists attending to him have confirmed that he suffered ‘a mild concussion’ and has now been completely cleared to resume physical activity after being kept under strict observation for the past 36 hours."
Silva was airlifted to Colombo on Sunday (24) after being hit on the head by a ball whilst
fielding at short leg during a practice match at the Pallakelle International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, where the Sri Lanka team was in a residential practice and training camp in preparation
for their tour to England.
"Silva will be completely rested for a further two days, and will gradually restart training with mild gym and ground activity, and is expected to resume batting practice by early next week."
