Media Cricket team scored a close win over MCA Committee to win the MCA President's Trophy in a 20-Over Friendly cricket match played at the MCA grounds.
Batting first the media men posted a respectable 171 for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs with Damith Weerasinghe top scoring with a fine 67 runs.
MCA Committee chasing the victory target fell short of by just eight runs scoring 162 for the loss of eight wickets.
Opener Wasanthalal Fernando with 58 runs made a brave effort for the Committee team but sadly had to be in the losing side.
Wasanthalal Fernando (MCA Committee) was adjudged the Best Batsman while Priyal Weerasinghe and Damith Weerasinghe both from Media team won the Best Bowler's and Man of the Match awards.
