The International Cricket Council (ICC) has stated that Sri Lanka fast bowler Shaminda Eranga, who was banned due to an illegal bowling action, could continue bowling at domestic level, under the observation of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
"The ICC has informed SLC that Shaminda Eranga has been suspended from International Cricket with immediate effect due to an illegal bowling action. Eranga was tested on the 6th of June at Loughborough, and the report has confirmed that all deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under the regulations and requires corrective measures," SLC, issuing a statement said.
"The ICC has informed SLC that Eranga may however be permitted to play domestically at the discretion of SLC, which may be beneficial in the process of monitoring his corrective measures," it added.
Meanwhile, SLC is pleased to confirm that Eranga who was hospitalized on Saturday (18) following a detection of an elevated heart-rate is out of danger and under observation and testing only.
