Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has decided to call off the planned preparation camps in which the announced 15-member squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 was to take part this week.
The Sri Lanka cricket team was scheduled to engage in a three-day 'Bonding Camp' at the Special Forces Camp in Maduru Oya, followed by a Residential Camp at the Dambulla Stadium.
But the prevailing security situation in the country aftermath of the Easter Sunday suicide attacks, where three churches at three different locations, and three upscale hotels in Colombo, SLC has decided to call off both training programmes.
The Sri Lanka cricket team will leave for England on May 7 to engage in a three-week training session, prior to their first game of the ICC CWC 2019 on June 1.
