Sri Lanka cricket deputy skipper Dinesh Chandimal has been forced out of action for at least three weeks after undergoing a surgery on his right hand earlier this week.
Chandimal suffered n injury which was explained as 'multiple dislocations around the right thumb area' after he was hit during a Mercantile Premier Tournament cricket match played last weekend.
Chandimal represents DIMO in the competition.
According to sources the recovery period for the injury will be three weeks.
Meanwhile the Sri Lanka team management has stated that Chandimal is expected to be fit for Sri Lanka's tour to Zimbabwe in October and November, which is likely to begin on October 29.
