Former Sri Lankan cricketer Farveez Maharoof has been appointed as the Manager of the U-19 National Team for the upcoming Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a press release.
“Whilst thanking Sri Lanka Cricket for this opportunity, I wish to state that I am honored to serve the game in my new capacity, which will enable me to use my experience, skills and the knowledge of the game to guide the youngsters aspiring to represent the national team in the future;' Maharoof was quoted saying following his appointment.
Maharoof, a former Sri Lanka all-rounder, represented Sri Lanka in both tests and limited over versions and will also remain as a Junior National Selector.
