Royal College Colombo and Mahinda College Galle will be battling for the prestigious Albert Edirisinghe Football Trophy on Sunday (28) at 3.00pm.
Incidentally this match will be celebrate its 25th anniversary; and will be played at the Racecourse in Colombo 7.
The inaugural match between these two schools was played in 1984, and since then Royal has won 21 matches, and Mahinda has won one with two matches ending in draws.
The chief guest for the match would be Darshana Perera including other special invitees Anura de Silva, the President of Football Federation Sri Lanka, Professor Nihal Hewage of Jayawardene Centre, Savindra Samarakoon, Managing Director Albert Edirisinghe Opticians, Mr. M Farook, former Master-in-charge of Royal College Football team, as well as the Principals and staff members of both schools.
The encounter will be interesting with the two teams fielding strong players. All Football fans are encouraged to witness the match which should be an exciting thriller.
