The second semi-final of the Silver Cup Division Two knock-out football tournament will take place on Sunday (11) between Old Joes SC vs Kirulapona United will take place at the M.H. Mohammed playground Colombo.
The tournament is being conducted by the Colombo Football League and 21 teams took part in the competition. In the first semi-final Henemulla United SC beat Kolons SC 2-1 to enter the finals.
In the pre quarter-finals Kokons SC beat Valencia SC 2-1, Henemulla United beat Challengers SC 3-1, Ratnam SC beat Old Hameedias SC 1-0, Old Royalists SC beat Zeal SC 4-3 on penalties, Old Joes SC beat Eveready SC 4-2, M.H. Mohammed Playground SC beat Eleven Lions SC 2-1, New Star SC beat Sunny Mount SC 2-1 and Kirulapona United SC beat CMB City FC 5-0.
In the quarter-finals Kolons SC beat Eleven Lions 6-0, Henemulla United SC beat Ratnam SC 3-1 on penalties, Old Joes SC beat Old Royalists 4-2, Kirulapona United SC beat New Star SC 1-0.
The date of the finals has not been fixed as yet. In all probability it will take place next Saturday (17) or Sunday (18).
The winning team will receive Rs.25,000 and the runners-up will bein line for Rs. 15,000.
