Football: Rain washes out Zahira Super 16 7s

A start was made to the 14th Zahira Super 16 Soccer 7s 2018 at the Racecourse ground on Saturday (6) morning, but, after a mere four games, the tournament was, initially, stopped and then postponed.

A fresh date for this would be announced in due course.

The teams that had entered were De Mazenod Kandana, Gateway, Hindu College Colombo, Isipathana, Lumbini, Lycieum International, Manipay Hindu College Jaffna, Maris Stella, Nalanda, Royal, St. Benedicts, St. Joseph's, St. peter's, Wesley, Gampola Zahira, Zahira College Colombo.

Zahira Colombo and their counterparts from Gampola were involved in a nil all drawn, Maris Stella and Royal were 0-0 at full time.

Manipay Hindu broke the ice by beating the Peterites 3-2.

The Josephians had better luck as they were able to beat Hindu College Colombo 1-0

This tournament has been organized by the Past Prefect Association of Zahira College.
