The Sri Lanka Presidents Women’s team beat the visiting Maldives Women’s team 3-0 to win the first friendly football match played at the Kelaniya Football Complex on Sunday (19). SL President’s XI led the first half by 2-0 after forward Kumudu and Praveena found the net. The third goal came in SL President’s XI favour through Nalika Karunaratne in the second half. Maldives Women will take on the Sri Lanka Navy Women’s Football team in their second tour friendly game at Welisara on Wednesday (22) at 3.30pm. The third and final friendly game for the visitors will be the Sri Lanka Army Women’s team at the City Football Complex on Friday (24) at 3.30pm.
