As St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena proudly celebrate their Sesquicentennial (1865 -2015) this year, the Old Benedictines domiciled in United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, Dubai, Canada and other countries across the globe are on holiday in Sri Lanka for the Old Benedictines’ Gala Dinner Dance and to spend their Christmas vacation with their families.
The Old Benedictines’ Sports Club, inaugurated in 1958, under the recently elected President, the 1974 1st XI College Cricket captain, Basil Perera has taken full advantage of the opportunity by organising a fun day for them on Sunday (20) with a full day’s programme at the College grounds.
The programme includes Holy Mass at 8.30am, officiated by Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo, Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Fernando; at 10:30am, a 25 overs-a-side Cricket Match between the Old Bens Overseas and OBSC (Colombo); followed by lunch; the morning session will conclude at 3.30pm.
The evening session will commence at 7.00pm with the Dinner Social.
The social will graced by the Benedictine OBU, Sydney Branch President, Roshan Pathinather.
