An invitational Women's hockey team from Pakistan featured in a 1-1 draw against a Sri Lanka Women's team at the Astro Turf in Colombo.
The progress of the Sri Lankan women hockey players was exhibited at the match by holding a strong Pakistani team to a one all draw.
Sri Lankan players match the Pakistanis in every department of the game never allowing the visitors to take liberties in their fast and pass approach.
Minister Rauff Hakeem as the Chief Guest said 'Women have achieved much progress in the game of hockey and Pakistan similar to the game of cricket has become a powerful in challenging the Western World in playing the game of Hockey as well'.
He concluded saying that in the international Hockey arena hockey players have achieved much progress and the time has come for the hockey players of Asian countries such as Sri Lanka and Pakistan to be world beaters.
