Sri Lanka Under-19 opener Hasitha Boyagoda created a world record in the Youth World Cup history when he slammed 191 runs to guide his side to a convincing 311-run against Kenya in their Plate quarter-final match played in New Zealand today (23).
Right-handed Boyagoda faced 151 balls and hit 28 fours and two sixes as Sri Lanka piled up a total of 419-4.
Kenya were bowled out for 108 runs with 85 deliveries to spare.
Boyagoda reached his 50 in 39 deliveries and made his 100 in 88 balls, while surpassing 150 runs off 126 deliveries.
He associated in three partnerships -- 87 runs with opener Dhananjaya Lakshan for the first wicket, 147 runs with Nishan Madushan for the second wicket and a 89-run stand for the third wicket with Jehan Daniel.
Sri Lanka will play in the Plate semi-final match on Thursday (25)
