Sri Lanka was bowled out for 367 runs in their second innings as Dinesh Chandimal made an unbeaten 162, leaving India to chase 176 runs for victory in the third session of the third day of the first Test in Galle today (14). Resuming from their overnight total of 5 for 2, Sri Lanka moved on and were badly placed again at 95 for 5 until Chandimal came up with a heroic knock of 162 not out off 169 deliveries, inclusive of 19 fours and four sixes. Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin completed a match bag of ten wickets. India made 375 runs in the first innings to take a healthy lead of 188 runs after restricting Sri Lanka at 183. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
