Lavanga Kaluarachchi produced a fine all-round performance to spearhead Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo beat Sujatha Vidyalaya, Nugegoda in their inaugural Inter-School Netball Big Match worked off at the Racecourse Grounds in Reid Avenue.
Lavanga led from the front as the Visakha Under-19 Team defeated their rivals 49-10 after having built up a commanding 14-4 lead at half time.
Lavanga was later named Netball Queen for her outstanding contributions in the Under-19 fixture as Visakha also went on to clinch the Motwani Challenge Shield.
Earlier, Visakha had the better of Sujatha 18-3 in the Under-17 netball encounter after having led 9-1 at half time.
The challenge shield is named after Clara Motwani who was the Principal of both Visakha Vidyalaya and Sujatha Vidyalaya.
Motwani served for 12 years as the Principal of Visakha Vidyalaya and 23 years as the Principal of Sujatha Vidyalaya since its inception.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
