Sri Lanka thrashed Japan by 67-14 in a Group 'B' game of the 10th Asian Netball Championship at the National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday (2).
After receiving a walkover from the UAE, who became last minute absentees due to a visa delay, Sri Lanka goes into their third game against Malaysia today (3) with great confidence.
The winners led right throughout, but their top performance came in the first quarter 18-1 before Japan retaliated to end the second quarter at 18-4.
A reenergized Sri Lankan side bounced back to finish the third quarter at 31-6 before ending the game 67-14 comprehensively.
In a Group 'A' game, defending champions Singapore defeated hosts Thailand 49-28, while Hong Kong thrashed Chinese Taipei 59-11.
